03 / The dreaming town
Every district remembers a different weather.
Sombra is a warm pixel-art town of old desktop calm, neon streets, impossible basements, forgotten fields, and places that become more real when someone needs them.
The town is built for wandering. Streets connect by mood as readily as distance. A basement can have six floors. An arcade can preserve a decade that never happened. The map is useful right up until it becomes honest.
Gathering is embedded in place: each material asks for a different kind of attention, from rhythm and balance to pursuit, combat, and simply being present long enough to notice what changed.

You did not move to Sombra. You became addressable to it.
Districts
A town organized by pressure, not zoning.
The workshop and Town Street form the familiar center. Beyond them, Memory Fields, the Fear Basement, Nostalgia Arcade, The Heart, markets, gardens, archives, workshops, and hidden devotional sites pull the town into different emotional climates.
Some areas invite routine. Others require tools, preparation, or nerve. Sombra remains cozy because it can be lived in—not because nothing inside it can hurt you.
Memory Fields
Open ground where the past grows close enough to gather.
Fear Basement
A descending combat space of emotional glitches and rooms that keep generating below the building.
Nostalgia Arcade
Soft CRT light, preserved rituals, and affection for things that may never have existed.
The Heart
A place on the map before it becomes a place you understand.
Movement
Routine gives the dream weight.
Days pass through six phases. Shops open. People move—or deliberately do not. Animals need care. Orders arrive. The workshop accumulates half-finished intentions.
Those ordinary systems are the anchor. Dream logic matters because it interrupts a life the player has actually learned how to live.
