THE TRAIN
Transport, workshop, armory, shelter, argument, and the only boundary the underground sometimes respects.
Door event / Four people hold the line while one organism learns every edge.
Between stops, the crew treats injuries, reloads weapons, trades equipment, installs modules, repairs damage, studies the haunted map, and tries to make a bad collection of parts feel like home.
Travel is breathing room, not a consequence-free lobby. Power can fail. Something can board. The next route fork can arrive while half the crew is fighting in the rear carriage.

Rolling identity
A Shared Character
The train has a fixed, readable layout rather than becoming a free-form construction screen. An engine, power core, configurable carriages, utility slots, defensive slots, and limited storage give the crew enough freedom to make it theirs without losing the ability to understand it under pressure.
Faction technology changes the physical interior. Authority parts organize controls and clinical light. Redline additions weld armor over windows and fill the carriage with pipes. Choir devices introduce bells, veils, and rooms that no longer agree with the outside dimensions.

Work While It Moves
Installation consumes time. Major changes may require a temporary shutdown, expose the crew to attack, or force a conflict over power and capacity. Every important resource and upgrade should have a visible, audible, physical effect aboard the train.
A cup left beside the route switch, taped photographs, welded repairs, scavenged furniture, faction hardware, and somebody's coat hanging beside the door are not decoration alone. They make every departure feel like leaving a place people actually inhabit.
- 01Repair
Restore integrity before the next impact.
- 02Install
Turn salvage into a new capability and a new load.
- 03Route
Reach the physical switch before the signal locks.
- 04Repel
Identify the thing that was not aboard one stop ago.
Route decision
Choose the Line in Real Space
Shortly before a junction, a physical switch aboard the train becomes active. A player must walk to it and operate it while the train is moving. The map shows only the current line, the relevant fork, limited information about two destinations, and the time before the signal locks.
There is no detached route-selection menu. Someone may be repairing the generator, dragging an intruder from the carriage, or sprinting for the switch while three teammates shout incompatible instructions.
Line condition
The train is not a menu between levels. It is the place everyone is trying to keep alive.
